After 4 years of toiling away in her new WooHooYa studios, NYMPHYA released her debut concept album DREAM DANCE in December, 2017, which garnered enthusiastic reviews from an international audience, and to the delight of her fans, her second album, NAKED KATE, an all acoustic anthology of Kate Bush covers, was released December 6, 2019. NYMPHYA then released her 6 song sampler EP, CURIOS in October 27, 2021 to introduce new listeners to her catalog. It features 4 favorite tracks from DREAM DANCE and NAKED KATE chosen by her fans, and 2 tracks from her 3rd album, WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN?
By October of 2022, NYMPHYA was busy writing and recording her latest offering – an immersive exploration of the magic and mysticism that infuses the Western Magical tradition. She ran a successful crowdfunding campaign for her full color, illustrated coffee table book, double vinyl album and CD of WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN? and released them in August of 2023.
The music and book were inspired by the spiritual alchemy of the Emerald Tablet and is a fusion of folk, classical, progressive, and electro elements. Featuring ancient aulos, lyre, frame drum, hurdy gurdy, harpischord, harp, cello, Celtic flute, banjo, and dulcimer juxtaposed with the usual suspects of bass, drum, guitar and synth, the album and book together create an immersive 360 experience for the listener.
To take you even deeper, NYMPHYA also recorded spoken word guided inductions of the text found within the WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN? book, so that you can experience your own personal discovery of the hidden, esoteric messages embedded within the lyrics.
Having focused all of her energy on the recording studio, the time had come to go live. So NYMPHYA performed her first live show at the Point Arena Festival in April 2023, followed by the Hexenfest Festival in October 2023.
September of 2024 saw her debut UK tour in Brighton, Epsom, Lichfield and Cambridge.
The OUTSIDE OF TIME: MAGICAL MUSIC FROM THE DREAMERY tour featured NYMPHYA and British artist Rose Thorn performing together and supported by a 4 piece band.
The 2 hour show, which included spoken word and poetry as well as music, engaged the audiences through an intimate musical conversation that wove both artist’s compositions and one or two uniquely treated covers with songs depicting loss, magic and discovery.
NYMPHYA will be releasing a live concert film of the Lichfield OUTSIDE OF TIME: MAGICAL MUSIC FROM THE DREAMERY show in 2025.
